Onigiriya’s Story

Philippines has a unique culture when it comes to food. Besides enjoying home-cooked meals, it has been a huge part of our eating culture to dine out with family and friends. In 2014, two of our Japanese friends, who has now become our co-founders, came for a visit to the Philippines. When they saw this first hand, they were so surprised at how many times we go out to eat in a week, or even in a day! And adding to their shock is learning about how little restaurant/service employees earn while working in a very busy and demanding environment, with most workers having little to zero benefits for their hardwork. Seeing just how hardworking Filipinos are and still having the smile on their faces even during the busiest hours, this has captured their hearts. We realized that we can create jobs that would make a difference, jobs that would change people's lives. When we blend the Filipino spirit with the Japanese work ethic and discipline, we see a future of the most outstanding employees, who are happy and well compensated. This vision gave rise to the founding of Masawrap, Inc.

Masawrap Inc. was officially incorporated in August 2018. We have made a commitment to always take good care and look out for our employees by offering fair compensation for their hard work, health insurance, and other benefits, valuable trainings and seminars, and career opportunities. We will also offer a Japanese Language Program in the future, for those who aspire for managerial positions.
